£24,000 — £25,000
Would you like to work for a great boss? How about being part of a team where everyone gets along? Here, you will be able to develop your career in finance while constantly learning. We know that this seems too good to be true, but we’ve worked with this company for a long time, helping them to build this team, so we know it’s true.
You will join their team as an Assistant Management Accountant, working as part of the Finance department, currently a team of 9. You will be surrounded by a team of positive people.
The business is part of a group of companies with operations throughout the UK, giving it the strength and stability of a larger business, whilst their offices, and particularly this site at Prudhoe, retain the spirit and feeling of a family-run, caring company.
You will be supported by a Manager who takes time to say “thank you” and “well done”. Her staff work in a safe, happy environment, where no-one is afraid to ask for help.
You will focus on the processing, maintenance, and control of banking transactions for this £200m group. You will be given key responsibility for reconciling 4 company bank accounts and manage daily draw-down of funds from the company Invoice Finance facility.
Additionally, you will reconcile balance sheet items, prepare accruals and prepayments, post nominal ledger journals and assist with monthly P&L reviews and analysis. This job will enable you to use the full breadth of your knowledge, developed through your AAT studies.
Ideally, you will have completed or be working towards AAT Level 3 or Level 4. You will be ambitious and eager to learn, developing with this growing business, as your responsibilities will progress.
You will be a confident, a team player who has a solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping. You’ll have previous experience of reconciling bank accounts and maintaining cashbooks.
You will not be frightened of using Excel, as this will form a large part of your daily routines. If you’re confident using Look Up and Pivot Tables functions, you’ll find this job more comfortable, but you’ll be supported to develop your Excel skills.
