Cost Accountant

Reference: 250

Stockton on Tees, Teesside
£28,000 — £30,000

Work with people (and numbers) to develop your accounting career.

You’re a people-person, as well as an accountant. You enjoy dealing with people in every area, not just in the finance and accounting team.

Perhaps you’re frustrated that your current job isn’t giving you this chance? Perhaps you’re looking for a role to complement your accountancy studies? Or, you may be a cost accountant, looking for a new challenge?

In this newly created position you’ll work with great people at all levels of this growing manufacturing firm. You’ll advise the small team of senior managers and Directors, and you’ll influence their decisions.

You’ll help people to understand costs that will drive improved performance. You’ll take ownership for Bills of Materials. You’ll help production to improve material usage, quality to reduce wastage, stock to improve visibility, and sales to develop new product pricing.

In return, you’ll enhance your cost accounting skills, which are vital for your continued career development and success in Teesside’s manufacturing community.

You’ll receive study support and mentoring towards completing your AAT, CIMA or ACCA exams, if you’re already studying. If you’re not studying, that’s fine. Either way, you’ll have some experience or knowledge of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.

This may not be your “forever” job, but it could take you to where you want to be, if that’s what you’re looking for.
