Redcar, East Cleveland
£0 — £25,000
If you’re looking for a new legal cashier role that you can call your own – a proper career move, not a stop-gap job – look no further than Cygnet.
It’s fitting that the Cygnet logo is a pair of swans. Not just because of our strong reputation for family law. But also because our people build long-lasting careers here.
A family feel
This is a business that feels like a family. We’ve grown organically over the years to become one of Teesside’s biggest, best respected law firms. Some of the team have been with us since our MD, Peter, established the firm in 2001. Others have joined us as we’ve grown and never looked back. If you’re the right fit for this role, we hope that you’ll enjoy working here for many years too.
There’s no typical Cygnet employee. Our team ranges in age from 18-60 and includes all sorts of different personalities. If there’s one thing that unites us all, it’s our commitment. We enjoy working with professionalism and pace – this is a growing, busy firm. We’re a supportive team who help one another to get things done: no pecking order; no office politics. Outside work, we’re a sociable bunch – this is somewhere where colleagues often become friends.
What you can add
You do need experience as a cashier in a solicitors office – specifically of SRA accounts rules – but it doesn’t have to be bang up to date. So, this might be a chance to move back into a field you’ve enjoyed in the past.
The job is vitally important to the smooth running of our office. Reporting to Lisa, our long-serving Practice Manager, you’ll take care of bookkeeping and accounts; banking and reconciliation – both in line with SRA guidelines. Alongside routine reporting and everyday queries, you’ll also run our staff payroll – if that’s something you haven’t done before, we can soon bring you up to speed.
You’re diligent, numerate and literate; someone who’s a good communicator both in writing and in person. Above all, you need a can-do attitude – you know when to press on with tasks and when to stop and seek help.
If that’s you, as well as stability, we can offer flexibility. If you think you can get the job done over four days instead of five, we’re happy to consider that arrangement. Either way, there’s a competitive salary.
Looking forward, this could be an ideal, lasting role for someone. Alternatively, if you’re ambitious to develop, there’s scope to take on new responsibilities as we grow, and to work towards becoming an accounts manager.
