£20,000 — £23,000
A temporary job with a happy ending – a permanent contract.
Your most important task will be running the weekly and monthly payroll – that’s why this company wants you to start ASAP – but if they’re right for you, and if you’re right for them, then you’ll be rewarded with a permanent job.
You will work part time, 2-3 days a week, which could be flexible.
You’ll be comfortable in this job if you have previous payroll experience and knowledge of current payroll legislation. You will be processing any starters or leavers, pension (auto-enrolment) deductions and HMRC reporting. If you’ve used Sage Payroll – great, but don’t worry if you’ve only used other payroll systems, as Sage is easy to learn.
You’ll also be responsible for processing purchase (supplier) invoices and resolving invoice queries. Previous experience would be useful, but it’s not essential, as payroll skills are the key here.
You will work next to one other finance team member who is down-to-earth, friendly and has a great sense of humour. If you don’t take yourself too seriously, you’ll enjoy working with her.
You’ll work in a relaxed, easy going, open-plan office. You’ll talk to all the departments – whether that’s asking for information about supplier accounts, helping with staff payroll queries, dealing with petty cash claims or simply asking who else would like a brew.
